GES Approves Holiday for Schools in Ghana – FULL DETAILS HERE
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially declared Thursday, 23rd January 2026, as a National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Day for teachers across the country.
According to a statement issued by the Management of GES and dated 14th January 2026, the day has been set aside to allow all teachers nationwide to participate in Phase Two of the Cybersecurity and Data Protection training programme.
What This Means for Schools
As part of this directive:

All learners will be on holiday on Thursday, 23rd January 2026.

The holiday applies to both basic and second cycle institutions nationwide.

Teachers are expected to fully participate in the CPD training activities organised by GES.

Purpose of the CPD Day
GES explained that the CPD Day is aimed at:
