GOOD NEWS FOR ALL TEACHERS | CHECK DETAILS AND TAKE ACTION NOW!
The Ministry of Interior has officially declared Monday, 22nd September 2025 as a public holiday. This announcement is a crucial one for all teachers, students, and the general public as it affects school schedules, academic calendars, and planned activities.
This is an opportunity to pause, rest, and reflect on the work we do every day to transform the lives of our students. As educators and professionals, it is essential to use this break wisely, spend time with family, recharge, and prepare mentally for the days ahead.

Reason Behind the Public Holiday
The Interior Ministry has declared Monday, September 22, 2025, a public holiday to observe this year’s Founder’s Day. Since Founder’s Day falls on Sunday, September 21, the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601), as amended, requires that when a statutory public holiday lands on a weekend, it be observed the following Monday. This allows all citizens, especially teachers and students, to properly celebrate and honor Ghana’s founding fathers.
