Evanne Lighthouse Christian School Triumphs in NCCE Smart Governor’s Constitution Quiz Competition
The Jaman South Municipal edition of the smart governor’s constitution quiz for basic schools took place on Monday, the 24th day of March 2025 at the Drobo Senior High School Assembly hall. The quiz competition which is been organized by NCCE across the country to commemorate the 68th Independence Day celebration aims to get students to learn and appreciate the contents and provisions of the 1992 constitution. The participating schools were Bonna MA JHS, Evanne Lighthouse Christian JHS, Demonstration JHS, and Prince Kiddies Preparatory JHS.

Mr. Emmanuel Oduro, the Municipal Director who doubled as the quiz master in welcoming the students, teachers and patrons emphasized the importance of civic education in our schools. He added that when citizens are well equipped with the knowledge on the laws of the country, their rights and civic duties, it empowers them to make informed decisions and participate in the development of the country.
Mr. Oduro urged the teachers and patrons to support the NCCE to strengthen the civic education clubs in the various schools to nurture responsible and active citizens.
The registrar from CHRAJ, Mr. James Gnabikan praised the efforts put in by the students during the competition. He briefly sensitised the students and the teachers present on the work of CHRAJ in the protection of human rights and urged to them to visit the office to report complaints.

Also, in addressing the students and teachers, Mrs. Agnes Nyaku-Aziliko, the Jaman South Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service congratulated all participating schools and encouraged the students to take their studies seriously since they are the future leaders of the country. She added that quizzes promote active learning and require students to think quickly on their feet and urged the school authorities to organize such activities in their various schools to promote effective learning. She commended NCCE for organizing the programme and pledged their support to the activities of the commission.

After three rounds of intense competition, Evanne Lighthouse Christian JHS emerged as the winners of the Jaman south municipal smart governor’s constitutional quiz competition. The second was taken by Prince kiddies Preparatory school whiles Demonstration JHS and Bonna JHS took the third and fourth position respectively. The winner was presented with a trophy and each school was presented with certificates, copies of the constitution and other items in recognition of their efforts displayed in the competition. The program was live transmitted at Kumkumcha radio- 94.9Mhz and was supported by Damoah Enterprise, Nana Appiah Enterprise, Frimps oil and Multi credit savings and loans.
