GES Invite All Senior High Schools For A Competition. [Details here]

 

The Regional Office of the Ghana Education Service in Koforidua has formally released a letter dated June 3, 2022 with reference number-GES/ER/SS, signed by Mrs. Margaret Nsiah-Asamoah, Regional Director, with reference to the Director General’s letter with reference number-GES/S&ID/CREF/2022/006 dated May 25, 2022 informing all regional and district directors that the Regional Centres for the teaching of French (CREF) are going to organize a nationwide oral competition for first year French students in their schools.

 

 

 

 

 

The competition is aimed at selecting twenty (20) students from each of the ten (10) traditional regions for a two-week linguistic immersion course in Lomé, Togo. Their main objective is to expose the students to the francophone environment thereby motivating them and developing their oral competencies.

 

 

 

 

The competition is scheduled to start on the Friday, June 17, 2022 at CREF DE Koforidua at exactly 9:00am prompt. Each Senior High School is to present one (1) French student. Headmasters/Headmistresses as well as the teachers of French are to note that per the objective of the immersion course, the selected students are to undertake, no school should present a student with a previous experience in francophone country.

 

 

 

The National Coordination Office for CREF will liaise with the Regional Officers of CREF to ensure a successful competition.
Participating schools are hereby informed to register with the Regional Unit Head of CREF de Koforidua for confirmation latest by Friday, June 10, 2022.

 

Management of GES expect that, this competition will be diligently organized to further boost the teaching and learning of French in our schools.
