The devastating attack has left the teacher permanently blind in one eye. As Thomas Musah Tanko, General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), stated, “For the rest of his life, he will be going through life with only one eye. His medical bills and all those things, who will take care of it?”

Tanko further emphasized the need for immediate action by the Ghana Education Service to address the growing concerns regarding teacher safety in schools. “If by next week we do not hear anything positive, we will decide the next line of action,” he warned.
