GES to Sack Teachers Involved in Exam Malpractice — Education Minister Orders
The Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has issued a firm directive to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to immediately dismiss any teacher found aiding or abetting exam malpractice.
Speaking during a stakeholder meeting on education reforms, the Minister stressed the urgent need to restore credibility in Ghana’s examination system. He particularly condemned the use of mobile phones to leak examination materials, describing it as a direct attack on the nation’s academic integrity.
He made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for any teacher who collaborates with students to cheat during exams.

“Teachers who aid students in cheating are doing more harm than good. The GES has my full backing to take immediate disciplinary action — including dismissal — against any teacher caught,” he said.
This directive comes amid growing concerns about rising exam irregularities, especially in WASSCE and BECE exams.
